SDONA has developed evaluation standards to better assess a K9 SAR team's level of readiness to operate under realistic search conditions and stressors. The goal is to provide each team with as realistic of an assessment as possible so that they may work to improve their ability to effectively respond to a diversity of real search scenarios.
Below you will find our two primary evaluation standards documents. The Canine and Skills Assessment (CASA) is the first of the two evaluations offered by SDONA. This is considered the baseline evaluation before moving on to the Operational Readiness Test (ORT). The ORT is a complex evaluation that occurs over a 36 -40 hours in a two-day period. This evaluation is designed to more realistically assess a teams readiness for a full scale deployment.
We encourage you to review these documents and sign up to participate in one of our upcoming evaluations. You are also welcome to contact us and discuss hosting an evaluation in your home location.
